Restorative Justice Program at Jones The Restorative Justice Program is here to support the community. The goal of this work is to build community, to reinforce our common values, to provide a space for folks to express themselves about real life issues, to deepen relationships with others in the community, and to resolve conflicts peacefully. This fall the RJ student-run program will provide both talking circles and peace circles. National Honor Society ATTN: Class of ‘24 and Class of ‘25 The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States. Membership is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character. Jones students can submit applications in the fall of their junior year OR senior year. In the fall of 2023 we will accept applications from the Class of ‘24 and the Class of ‘25. Interested students should take action immediately to gain required volunteer hours prior to the late September deadline. May is Asian American and Pacific Heritage Month – a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Explore ways to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Chicago. Ninth grader Tess Lacy produces and distributes Kidler, a student-based newspaper covering the Far Northside neighborhoods of Edgewater, Rogers Park, and Uptown. Kidler covers political issues, developments, infrastructure, education, and more in the context of our local environment. Issues are released the second Saturday of every month, and all current and past issues are archived on the website. You'd think with millions of people posting ideas, photos and funny dances that social media would be a great place for individuality. So why are the same viral videos and trends everywhere? Turns out, humans are social creatures who want to fit in and be accepted. That's normal, but what's new is social media's supercharged conformity that takes "group think" to a whole new level.
