The I&G Booklist focuses on the plight of immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in the world today. I urge students, teachers, and parents to reach for these 26 titles to inform themselves; to reflect and discuss the content in classrooms, at club meetings, at home, and in our communities; and to take action to contribute to relief and solutions.

Library Mission

To provide an ever-renewing resource that provides information in a variety of formats as well as instruction in its access and use in order to support the goals of the school curriculum; encourage independent and group exploration, creativity, and critical thinking; and to promote civic engagement, self-discovery, and joy.

Library Hours

7:00 AM - 4:30 PM every school day
  • After school volunteers staff the library daily until at least 4:30 PM and often choose to stay later. 
​

Library Policies

Entering the Library  
  • Students may enter the library without a written pass before school (7:00-8:00 AM) , during lunch periods, during ac lab periods, and after school (3:15-closing). 
  • Written passes are required for individual students or small groups to enter the library during all regular class periods. 
  • Individual students or small groups entering the library with written passes during regular class periods must sign in legibly in the black binder. ​Otherwise students are no longer required to sign in when entering the library. 
  • Students will continue to scan in during ac lab periods. ​ 
Library and Ac Lab Policies and Procedures
  • The JCP community strives to maintain a positive, productive, collaborative, and respectful learning environment in the library.

Food Policy
  • Food consumption is prohibited in the library. Students may drink from non-disposable water bottles or thermoses with tight-fitting caps or lids. Disposable bottles or cups must be left on the desk at the library main entrance.

library resources

 The library program features approximately 6,500 books, subscriptions to 28 popular magazines, 70 desktop computers, 20 iPads with these apps, a Chromebook cart with 30 units, two student printers, subscriptions to JSTOR and STATISTA, a FLASHFORGE Finder 3D printer, the beginnings of a MakerSpace, three projection sites, and the services of a full-time teacher librarian. Basic school supplies (pens, pencils, markers, crayons, scissors, rulers, protractors, headphones, etc.) can be borrowed from and returned to the checkout desk.
