Abraham lincoln award
The Abraham Lincoln Award is awarded annually to the author of the book voted as most outstanding by participating high school students in Illinois. The award is named for Abraham Lincoln, one of Illinois' most famous residents and himself an avid reader and noted author. Sponsored by the Association of Illinois School Library Educators (AISLE), the program encourages high school students to read for personal satisfaction, to become familiar with authors of young adult and adult books, and to become lifelong readers. Student participants must read a minimum of four titles to participate in the vote in mid-March. The Jones School Library owns copies of almost all nominated titles!

- Please note the reference works are only the tip of the iceberg of the print collection! Wikipedia provides this definition: "A reference work is a book or periodical (or its electronic equivalent) to which one can refer for information. The information is intended to be found quickly when needed. Reference works are usually referred to for particular pieces of information, rather than read beginning to end." They are ideal for research. Many consist of more than one print volume. Read more about reference works HERE.
