You certainly have spotted many of the medals imprinted on the covers of award-winning books, and they are a solid indication of the high quality of the work. Among those awards are the following: The Coretta Scott King Award recognizes African American authors and illustrators of outstanding books for children and young adults. The Pura Belpré Award honors Latinx writers and illustrators whose children's and young adult books best portray, affirm and celebrate the Latino cultural experience.
