Juneteenth The Juneteenth National Independence Day Act was signed by President Joe Biden last Thursday, officially making Juneteenth a federal holiday just in time for June 19, 2021. This is the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day, added in 1983. Juneteenth marks the freedom of enslaved Black people in the US. It's also known as Freedom Day or Jubilee Day. The free access expires on September 1, 2021. Submit this form to trigger your free subscription. CPS will certainly continue to provide free access on-campus in the fall. National Museum of Mexican Art - Free Virtual Weekend Tours in June in Spanish and English AND Physical Reopening on July 1 Starting in June virtual tours will explore works from Adláteres (Minions) and the Unexpected Journey, an exhibition featuring paintings by Mexican artist Carmen Chami. NMMA docents will dive into the narratives and characters featured in these figurative style paintings. Free registration here.
