Books and More! “We’re All In This Together” Summer and 2020-2021 Library Thematic Booklist Please suggest titles for next year’s thematic library booklist, “We’re All In This Together.” The WAITT list will consist of works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and short stories that demonstrate people putting their differences aside and joining forces to overcome a challenge, solve a problem, seek justice, promote peace, or otherwise make the world a better place. Also feel free to submit articles, films, documentaries, plays, music, and podcasts that feature the theme. Click HERE to submit your suggestions! Temporary Chicago Public Library eCards for all CPS students who need them! In partnership with Chicago Public Library, the CPS Department of Libraries and Instructional Technology is offering temporary CPL eCards to all CPS students who need them. During the COVID crisis, students and families can fill out this form and I will email you login information for a temporary eCard. Acquiring a temporary eCard through JCP does not require any personal information. Students with a regular Chicago Public Library card can use it to access all CPL online library resources, including electronic books and online databases (explore the JCP library’s Online Resources Page for links to great CPL databases). Log in using your library card number as the username and your 5-digit zip code as your PIN. All Chicago residents without a physical card may apply for an eCard online (online eCard application, eCard FAQ’s). Sync AUDIOBOOKS FOR TEENS - Audiobooks FREE OF CHARGE! Starts TODAY!! SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 13+ running thirteen weeks from April 30 until July 29. SYNC provides participants two thematically paired audiobooks a week. Check out the SYNC website to register using your CPS email, to download the SORA reading app, to sign up for weekly new title alerts, and to learn about the 26 titles that will be provided over 13 weeks (two per week). Hamilton Education Program AT HOME The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and HAMILTON are thrilled to announce EduHam at Home, a free digital program for students and their families. The play focuses on the emotional struggle between Olga, who wants to buy a home, and her husband Manolo, who sees homeownership as constraining. The work explores issues including infidelity, domestic abuse, personal responsibility, and friendship.
