African American Racial Justice Book List 2018 2019 Slideshow with detailed information about the 23 titles; Slideshow on library homepage; One-page list of titles Focus on White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of our Racial Divide by Carol Anderson JCP Link CPL Link Author Caron Anderson illustrates that every time African Americans have made advances towards full participation in our democracy, white reaction has fueled a deliberate and relentless rollback of their gains. White Rage details the legislation, policies, rulings, and schemes that have denied African Americans access to voting rights, education, housing, employment, medical services, fair treatment by the criminal justice system, and freedom from the threat of physical harm. From the Civil War to the 2016 election, Carol Anderson reframes our continuing conversation about race, chronicling the powerful forces opposed to black progress in America.
