Focus on All American Boys by Jason Reynolds & Brendan Kiely JCP Link CPL Link When sixteen-year-old Rashad is mistakenly accused of stealing, classmate Quinn witnesses his brutal beating at the hands of a police officer who happens to be the older brother of his best friend. In this Coretta Scott King Honor Award winning novel, two teens - one black, one white - grapple with the repercussions of a single violent act that leaves their school, their community, and, ultimately, the country bitterly divided by racial tension. Rashad and Quinn confront the unspeakable truth that racism and prejudice didn’t die after the civil rights movement. Want a library card? Two easy options!!! 1.
