Since he acknowledged his status, he has advocated for migrant and immigrant rights worldwide. In this work Vargas considers what it means to be American and how it feels when you are considered alien in your own home. This book has particular interest for JOURNALISTS! Please join ALAS (Association of Latin American Students) and Common Cause Wednesday, November 20, at 3:30 in the North Auditorium for a symposium with Christian Diaz from the Logan Square Neighborhood Association. We are creating a dialogue about the changes that communities across Chicago are subjected to against their will, and how young people can fight back. Mr. Diaz will tell stories about experiences organizing against gentrification in Logan Square followed by questions and discussion about solving these problems in our own communities.
