Liberation. Joy. Healing. Equity. Reconciliation. New beginnings. The extended quarantine tested our strength, adjusted our personal priorities, and forced us to acknowledge many realities, injustices, and challenges that have been too long ignored. As we make our way back to school and other customs and routines, how can we sustain the conversations and efforts to demand equity for all? How will we live together? ALL THE COPIES HAVE ARRIVED!!! Explore the new book list (Google Slideshow or at the top of the Library Home Page) or swing by the library to check out the physical display of the books. Themes include social emotional learning, self-care, fighting for change, and building community. Restorative Justice Foundations of Peer Conference The Jones Administration has again enlisted the services of Alternatives, Inc. to train approximately 15 freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (supported by Ms. Lilagan [email protected] and Mr. Feeley [email protected]) to facilitate student-led restorative justice practices in the Jones community. Student training will consist of one all day (six-hour) training followed by six one-hour training sessions after school. The training will be in-person on campus and will be complete by the end of the fall semester. More advanced training in the spring semester will follow a similar schedule. Ideal candidates are compassionate, empathetic, community-minded students who are trusted and admired by their peers. We are eager to enroll peer conference student leaders with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Both students and teachers are encouraged to suggest great student candidates for this program. Students can use the same form to self-nominate. Nominations and self-nominations can be submitted HERE and are due on Wednesday, October 6.
