The Friends of Jones Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Invites JCP Parents to a Book Discussion JCP parents are welcome to join the Friends of Jones Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the JCP school librarian for its first book club. The group will meet via Zoom to discuss the book White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo on Thursday, February 4 at 6:30 PM. The book will certainly generate meaningful discussion about racism. Fifteen sophomore and junior leaders have been selected to participate in training to become Peer Conference Leaders who will introduce student-led restorative justice practices to the Jones community. They are Jonah McArthur, Rawan El-Bawab, Daniel Andrade, Violet Berlin, Sophia Cruz, Greta Jung, Zoe Weinstein, Aaliyah Short, Sarah Rubinov, Saniya Kodavarti, Lina Pham, Jaclyn Davis, Keenan Houlihan, Daniele Rose Dapiton, and Luna Suarez. Women in STEM Join American Experience for a discussion on pioneering women in STEM, inspired by their new film, The Codebreaker, currently streaming on PBS. The film features the work of cryptanalyst Elizebeth Smith Friedman who brought down Al Capone, broke up a Nazi spy ring in South America, and laid the foundation for the National Security Agency (NSA).
