I can personally attest to the magnificence of One Man, Two Gunvors featuring James Corden; Gloria, A Life, a celebration of the work of feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem featuring an all-female cast; and Ann, a salute to legendary, larger-than-life Texas governor Ann Richards (sounds boring but it’s HILARIOUS!). Anna Deavere Smith’s powerful one-woman theater piece about the 1991 Rodney King beating and the 1992 post-verdict L.A. Riots remains very provocative and relevant. Plenty to love for fans of Lin Manuel-Manuel Miranda and Shakespeare, too! Actors, singers, dancers, musicians, humans, JUMP. ON. THIS! Several JCP teachers benefitted from a webinar series provided this summer by the Adaway Group about race and equity in the workplace. This recent email from them really resonated for me and my feelings for all of you. Please take a moment to read this thoughtful reflection.
